Explore the roleThe opportunity
Bali Hospitality Stars is recruiting a General Manager for an operating luxury boutique resort in South Bali. The resort has an established market presence. Its trading name will be shared with selected candidates later because this is a discreet leadership search.
This is the senior business and property leadership position. It suits an experienced Bali hospitality leader who can improve guest experience, develop a strong management team, drive commercial performance and make the resort increasingly independent of day-to-day owner involvement.
The successful candidate will have room to make a visible impact, with direct access to ownership and the authority to improve how the resort operates.
First priorities
Top ratings on the resort's relevant review platforms.
Delivered through a capable Assistant General Manager and accountable operating team.
Clear expectations and prompt action when standards are not met.
Stronger revenue performance and disciplined cost control, without weakening service or the property.
Run under the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, supported by concise owner reporting and early escalation of material risks and decisions.
What you will own
Overall resort performance and the management system that produces it.
Commercial strategy, pricing, occupancy, revenue management, direct bookings and online travel agency performance.
Budgets, forecasts, cost control, operating profit and practical business improvement.
Guest-experience standards, review performance and permanent resolution of recurring or material failures.
Leadership, coaching and performance management of the Assistant General Manager and other managers.
Workforce planning, recruitment, hiring, salaries, performance management, employee relations and HR compliance within approved budgets and authority.
Major vendor, contract, compliance and property-risk decisions, with ownership approval where required.
Capital projects and major renovations, including planning, budgeting, vendor and professional coordination, scope, cost, schedule, quality and disruption control.
Clear weekly and monthly reporting to ownership, including results, risks, recommendations and decisions required.
Leadership structure
The Assistant General Manager directly manages daily operations and operational staff, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance coordination, security, scheduling, routine vendors and routine guest-service execution.
The General Manager remains accountable for the result. The GM sets direction, leads and holds the Assistant General Manager accountable, removes obstacles, checks whether operating standards are producing the required results and intervenes personally in serious guest, people, commercial or property problems.
This is an active leadership role, but it is not the routine departmental-supervisor position.
What we will look for
